LK Bennett X Ascot Review

I actually try my absolute hardest to avoid looking at LKB because I love it so much, but, it's slightly out of my price range, so seeing their collections is always such a tease! Sometimes I can't resist a quick look though, even if I am taunting myself, and one of those times is always the annual Ascot collection which has been an official sponsor for some years now. Every year it trumps the last and I never think it's possible, but every year I'm proven wrong and taunted some more with absolute fashion perfection.

LKB know timelessness, femininity and class, and better yet, their quality can never be questioned.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I want every piece of their 2023 Ascot collection - it's stunning!

Let's begin with the colour pallet this year - soft, pastel tones of pink, lilacs and greens intwined with warm Lemons, Golds and Ivory's. Not too many colour options, neither too few. The florals are exquisite - beautifully painted flowers worthy of the Chelsea flower show, bold enough to be prominent but subtle enough to be tasteful.

I'm big on fabric variations and this one offers lace, silk, organza, cotton and satin - that's all of the perfect fabrications covered as far as I'm concerned! Key features including belts, bows and pleats make up design details while an array of shapes are also included. Body-con's, midi's, maxis and mini's make up dress options while jumpsuits, knitwear and suiting are also on offer.

The accessories are probably some of my favourite ever - the selection of clutches in particular are enough to make you truly spoilt for choice. There are 17 different colour options including print and fabrication choices - what more could you need?! For me, the bag is integral to a Raceday outfit, and LKB have offered so many for every single potential outfit and you just can't go wrong. Their clutches are classic and so beautifully simplistic that can offer timelessness to your wardrobe forever - they're investment pieces that will never date.

There are only 3 headwear pieces on offer, but when they each provide something unique, that's all you need for a capsule Raceday collection. A headband style fascinator, a mid-sized pill-box option and an extravagant wide-brimmed show-stopper!

Every item is wearable for not only for this summer's race days, but weddings, christenings and summer occasions not just for 2023, but for the next decade, as none of this is going out of style any time soon.
